QwOT captures the information your business needs in one quick scan.
It’s the simple, safe and quick way to collect personal information and has been designed for everyone to use – even those who are not tech savvy!

Q: Why are people reluctant to sign up to marketing databases?

Time – existing methods can be slow and no one likes queueing!
Risk – people can see, hear and record personal information.
Fear – concerns about security of stored information.
Inaccuracy – names and addresses can be misheard or misspelled when dictated.
Form filling – slow; fear of difficult questions; lack of counter space; small boxes to complete.
Unhygienic – shared pens; shared screens and paper.
Staff – not all staff are trained/authorised to record data; busy shops discourage staff and potential customers from form filling and an inconvenient wait.

Q: How does QwOT solve these problems?

Quick – One quick scan of a QwOT code collects all the information requested – no queues!
Safe – No one can see, hear or record information when it is shared. Collected data is stored on the QwOT database ready for the subscriber to download. We do not sell information to third parties.
Easy – QwOT is very easy to use. We’ve deliberately kept it simple. Codes can also be made in advance and saved, ready for the next visit.

Q: Can I use QwOT to collect other information?

QwOT is an affordable and really easy way to collect valuable customer data. Simply ask customers to make a code that includes the information you require and scan it. Need to ask questions, run competitions, request consent to T&C’s? Easy! Customers simply include their answers or consent in Field 13 ‘Other’. No need to buy expensive contact databases.

Q: What information can I collect?

QwOT has up to 13 fields of information for you to choose from.
Every business is different so QwOT allows huge flexibility. You can ask customers to include one or more of the following fields in their code. QwOT allows safe transfer and storage of information. Ultimately it is the customer’s decision what information they wish to share.

NOTE:

If customers agree to selecting the ‘Email’ and ‘Promotion and offers please!’ field, your business can add them to a marketing database and email information directly to them. QwOT enables you to collect quality, high value, contact information.

Q: What can I use the ‘Other’ field for?

It’s possibly the most brilliant, useful field we’ve designed! Enter up to 100 characters of information – the choice is yours.
For example, use it for adding:
– Customer number
– Value of donation
– Competitor number for sponsored events
– Raffle answers
– Great ideas for fundraising
– Canvassing opinion (anonymously or otherwise) – – Sponsorship totals
– Voting
– Preferences
– Agreeing to terms and conditions
– Customer feedback
… and much, much more.

Examples of ‘Other’ field in action:

I run a clay pigeon shoot and need guests to agree my T&C’s, how can QwOT help?
Customers read your T&C’s then add ‘I agree to T&C’s dated…. ‘ in Other (field 13). Ask them to select all the fields you need and make a code ready to scan when they arrive. This speeds up entry and provides you with the information you need.

We assign a unique customer number. Can this be included in a QwOT code?
No problem. Donors simply add their unique number to ‘Other’ then include this field in their code.

I’m running a ‘Guess the name of the Teddy Bear’ fundraiser, how can QwOT help?
Just ask entrants to add their guess to the ‘Other’ field, and select this together with their name and contact details. After their code is scanned, all the guesses can be downloaded in easy to read format and the winner chosen.

Q: We want to check visitors in to the Music Festival which will be held outside. Does QwOT need Wi-Fi?

No. QwOT uses 4G and does not need Wi-Fi.

Q: How do I view the information I’ve collected?

Download your data via the QwOTRead website.
Log into your account on the qwotread.com website and visit the Engine Room where you can request the information you need to download. Information contained in a scanned code is date and time stamped to help you identify where and when it was collected. Subscribers receive their information as a CSV file which can be imported directly into their business database.

Q: My charity shop has staff and volunteers with different skills and needs. Will they all be able to use QwOT?

QwOT has been specifically designed to be used by all ages and skillsets. Scanning a QwOT code requires a single operation where a smart device is held over a code. A successful scan is confirmed by a haptic buzz.

Q: How do I let my customers know my business uses QwOT?

1. Simply use your social media, website or our poster generation facility to let customers know you are using QwOT and ask them to download the free QwOT app if they haven’t already done so.
2. They fill fields with their information which stays on their phone until they choose to share it. Download the QwOT App from App stores and try it for yourself!
3. Codes are be made by selecting the fields requested and tapping “Make my code”. It takes less than 3 seconds to make a code and they can be made and saved before they visit which speeds up entry!
4. Scan QwOT codes when they visit.

Q: How do I start?

Businesses subscribe to QwOT via the qwotread.com website.
Then download your QwOTRead app and input the UBRN* included with your subscription.
